Weekend Prize List 2002
Saturday 18 Holes Stapleford
Douglas Stirling
Played on Saturday tee off time 8.30 the NAMES golfers gathered at Charleton golf course in a typical east
coast fog. you could just make out the first fairway and where the greens were on the outward nine was basicaly a lottery.
Some hit straight drives and straight seconds only to find the hole was a dog leg and they were on the wrong
fairway/ green. But after 9 holes the fog lifted although in some cases that only made there scoring worse.
Sunday 18 holes Stapleford
David Harley
A totaly different day from Saturday with no wind or fog and a clear blue sky. It was nice to see the front
nine . It was also interesting to see where the hole really went as compared to where you thought it went in the fog
Saturday 9 hole par 3 one club challenge (skins)
Skin Takers Craig , Alex
Sunday 9 hole par 3 one club challenge (skins)
Skin Takers Douglas , David and Stewart after a 5 man extra hole play off.
Both the above skins games were played as a 7 ball on Saturday and a 6 ball on Sunday over the par 3 course
at Charleton. Only one club and a putter were allowed and as the holes ranged from 70 yard to 140 yards aprox an interesting
time was had by all.
Craig and Douglas Stirling also beat Alistair and Alex in a sub Match on Saturday 5 and 4
Table Tennis Alistair
This was table tennis with bats which were so worn out they were smother than the tiles on the floor.
Alistair said that it was only sour grapes at his superior skill.
He's probably right.
Squash Craig
Craig and Robert took part in this titanic struggle . David was leading until first his legs then his lungs
gave up , but he gets 10 out of 10 for bravery.
Snooker Robert
A miss spent youth came to the fore with Robert taking the snooker prize . the boring snooker award went
to David and Stewart who threw in the towel after being locked at 14 each after and hour. It was'nt our fault they said a
big boy ran in and sewed up the pockets
.
Dominos Alex
He counts the spots you know. Thats what a superior education does for you.
Swimming Stewart
He used to swim like a fish but now it's like Moby Dick the great white whale . When he dived in the pool
a tidal wave hit LEVEN
Falling in the Burn Alistair
and he was sober at the time
Wig spotting Robert
Of course it was a wig
Hide the Wallet Alex
A master at this game when he's had a drink. When sober the next day niether him or any one else could
find it even though we stripped the place from top to bottom. But as you know as soon as you phone and cancel the cards ,
THERE IT IS !!!!!!!! . I can't remember the exact words he used but the certainly were not medical.
.
